Falcons Baseball Win Two at Hesston

Kansas Christian to off to a hot start offensively in their three game set with the Larks of Hesston College. The Falcons scored two runs in each of the first four innings on their way to a 15-7 win. Corbin Sprague earned the win pitching in relief. Leadoff hitter TJ Bratton set the table for the lineup getting three hits, scoring two runs, and driving in two runs. Dorian Arraiz also had three hits, three RBIs and a run scored. Connor Taylor and Peyton Roper each had two hits. Roper hit a grand slam to left field in the sixth inning and finished with six RBIs in the game. 

The second game of the series was pure dominance by the Falcons. Three runs in the first inning were followed by three more runs in the second, four in the third, and five more in the fifth inning as the Falcons pounded out 15 hits. Drew Lippold drove in five runs and scored once as he led the team with three hits. Jake Galloway hit a home run and drove in four runs. He scored twice and had two hits. TJ Bratton scored three runs and had two hits. While the Falcons bats were hot, Nate Boen turned the Hesston bats ice cold. Boen struck out nine pitching a complete game shut out and narrowly missing the first no-hitter in program history allowing just one hit in the game which came with two outs in the final inning.

In the final game of the sereis, Hesston would earn the win 13-6. Connor Taylor had a breakout offensive performance getting two hits, one of them his first home run of the year. He scored a run and drove in five runs. TJ Bratton added two more hits and the Falcons finished with 10 hits as a team. William Ashley, Dustin Rector, Denzel Rincon, Dorian Arraiz, Drew Lippold, and Jake Galloway each had one hit. 

The Falcons host College of the Ozarks at noon on Tuesday for a double header at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy. It will be senior day so come out and support your Falcon Seniors, Tommy Thomas and William Ashley!
