Lady Falcons Sweep Moundbuilders

Earning their fifth and sixth wins of the year, the softball team now stands at 6-6 on the season. The two most recent wins came over Southwestern College, an NAIA opponent out of Winfield, Kan. 

In game one, the Falcons took a 13-5 win as Cambree Prescott went four for five at the plate with a double, a stolen base and two RBIs. Gabi Lopez went three for four scoring a run and driving in two runs. Isabella Davis had two hits and scored twice. Hannah Jenkins had a hit, scored a run, and drove in two runs. Ariana Lysakowski tossed a complete game and earned the win allowing just five runs and striking out three. 

The second game of the double header, Southwestern took the early lead in the top of the first inning, but Kansas Christian used a pair of runs in the first and second innings to pull away and held on after some late runs were scored for a 9-6 win. Natalie Aguinaga went three for three, drove in four runs, and scored a run to pace the offense. Gabi Lopez continued her outstanding day at the plate with a two for two performance at the pate. She also scored two more runs. Brynne Grammer, Isabella Davis, Emma Martinez, Hannah Jenkings and Cambree Prescott all had a hit as well as the Falcons finished with 10 hits in the game. 

The softball team will play two more against Southwestern on April 9 but this time it will be in Winfield, Kan. The Falcons take a three game win streak into the contests which will begin at pm.
