Softball Splits Double Header with Patriots

The Kansas Christian Softball team rallied from multiple deficits for a come back win over Mission University in game one of their double header on Tuesday afternoon. After trailing 6-2 after the secon inning, the Falcons used a three run third and a three run sixth inning to .ead 8-6 headed into the seventh inning of the game. The Patriots temporarily spoiled the fun for the Falcons with a five run seventh inning, but Kansas Christian was relelentless, charging back with four runs for a walk off victory on a single from Pricilla Cabral that scored Hannah Jenkins. 

The second ranked offense in the NCCAA put up 12 runs on 13 hits. Brynne Grammer went four for five and drove in four runs to lead all hitters. McKinzie Sowles, and Hannah Jenkins each had two hits. Sowles scored three times and Jankins scored four runs while also driving in two. Gabi Lopez, Cambree Prescott, and Priscilla Cabral each had two hits. 

In game two the Falcons dug themselves an early hole as Mission scored six in the first. Kansas Christian was able to get a few runs in the game but it would end after five innings due to run rule. Hannah Jenkins had two hits, McKinzie Sowles scored two runs, had a hit, and one RBI. Natalie Aguinaga, Brynne Grammer, and Isabella Davis each had one hit. Sammi Boothe drove in a run. 

The Falcons are now 7-9 on the season with two games at Haskell coming up on Thursday, April 16.
