Lady Falcons Roll to Another Victory

The Kansas Christian College women's basketball team improved to 4-0 with another win at home on Saturday. it is the best start to a season in program history for the Falcons.

Another fast start with early buckets and full court defense put the Falcons in position for the win on Saturday. The Falcons scored 28 first quarter points and led by 16 headed to the second quarter. The Falcons put the clamps down in the second quarter allowing just five Barclay points. The Falcons led the Bears 47-17 at halftime. 

In the second half, Barclay turned the tables around. The Bears trailed by as many as 35 points early in the second half and trimmed the deficit all the way down to just nine points in the fourth quarter. Barclay found their way to the free throw line for 32 shots compared to just 18 attempts for the Falcons. Good free throw shooting got Barclay back into the game, but in the end it was not enough as the Falcons held on for a 79-66 win. 

Mikalle Lowry led the Falcons offensively with 18 points. She was four for eight from three point range and grabbed eight rebounds. Mae Nomran tallied 15 points, five steals, and five assists. Monique Hunt finished with 10 points and eight rebounds while Brendeja Holloman had 10 points and seven rebounds. 

Next up for the women's basketball team is a trip to Lincoln, Neb. where they will take on Nebraska Welseyan University on Tuesday, November 8 at 7pm in an exhibition game.
