Lady Falcons Take First Loss On Florida Trip

The Kansas Christian women's basketball team suffered their first official loss of the season in Florida last week. Fort Lauderdale took down the Falcons by a final score of 58-38. Two nights later the Falcons droppen an exhibition game against St. Thomas before returning home. 

Brendeja Holloman scored a team high 18 points in the loss to Fort Lauderdale. Monique Hunt led in rebounds with 11. Ali Warner chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds. Zhira Cephus had three steals. Kansas Christian trailed by three after the first quarter and eight at haltime, but Fort Lauderdale pulled away in the second half. 

In the exhibition against St. Thomas, Zhira Cephus and Brendeja Holloman both scored in double figures with 13 and 12 points respectively. Danna Wagnon and Ali Warner each had eight rebounds. St. Thomas got off to a fast start with a 35-6 advantage in the first quarter and they never looked back on their way to a 102-41 win over the Falcons. 

The women's basketball team is back in action tonight with another exhibition game at Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla. at 5:30pm.
