Women's Basketball Fights Hard in Texas Trip

Kansas Christian women's basketball dropped both games but showed signs of improvement on the road trip. 

The first game of the trip came against Southwestern Adventist on Thursday and the Falcons went step for step in the first quarter as both teams scored over 20 points in the period. Southwestern Adventist built up a 11 point lead after three quarters of play, but he Falcons rallied in the fouth before falling 61-52. 

Laura Guillamat-Ribo put up the team high with 22 points in the loss. Melissah Henderson also scored in double digits with 10 points. Anna Westphal went two for four from three point range in her first game of the season for the Falcons. 

On Friday, Kansas Christian took on Dallas Christian. The Falcons led by seven at halftime looking poised for their first victory, but the Crusaders rallied in the second half as the Falcons offense went cold scoring just 17 second half points. 

Laura Guillamat-Ribo scored 22 points for the second straight game. She also had nine reboudns. Nickiah Metcalf scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds to post a double-double. Anna Westphal grabbed 12 rebounds.
